Connectivity Monitor

WebSharing features a built-in connectivity monitor to ensure that your device is able to communicate on your Wi-Fi network while the service is running.

Warning Messages

If WebSharing is unable to communicate on your Wi-Fi network, it will issue a warning message. This message is displayed whenever WebSharing is not able to "ping" your Wi-Fi router / access point. You may experience this message even if your phone/device shows a very strong Wi-Fi signal.

Correcting the Problem

Most connectivity problems can be corrected by turning Wi-Fi off and then on again on your device. If this does not solve the problem, try rebooting your Wi-Fi router (turn it off, then turn it on again).

Disabling the Connectivity Monitor

On most networks, the connectivity monitor will work as advertised. However some network configurations may result in false positives. If you find that the monitor is inaccurate on networks you use frequently, we suggest that you disable it. Visit the settings menu (Press the menu key, then select "Settings"). Select "Network Settings" and uncheck the "Connectivity Monitor" checkbox.
