System Monitor

The System Monitor feature is used to display current and historical information about your
device's activity and battery consumption.

Live Data

The Live view of the system monitor displays the current state of the device. The following parameters are displayed in the live data view:

  • CPU Activity
A pie graph is divided into the following four regions to show how the CPU is being used:
    • User: processor use by applications.
    • System: processor use by Android to manage the device's hardware.
    • Nice: processor use by low-priority processes which will only run when excess processing power is available.
    • Idle: the unused portion of the processor.

A bar graph to the right of the CPU meter shows the average operating frequency of the processor (the processor will slow down when possible to conserve battery). The scrolling graph at the bottom of the CPU Activity area shows the processor utilization over the last two minutes.

  • Network Activity
The scrolling graphs on the left side display network bandwidth used over time. The bar graphs to the right show current network utilization.
  • Memory
Available memory is displayed as a pie chart. You do not need to be concerned if the device has low available memory, Android will automatically free memory when it is required.
  • Internal Storage / SD Card
The "Internal Storage" and "SD Card" charts show the utilization of your device's storage. Most devices only have external "SD Card" storage.
  • Battery
The battery display shows charge, charge state, and current battery voltage.
  • Temperature
One or more temperature readouts may be displayed. The AK#### temperature sensor shown on some devices indicates the CPU temperature.

Historical Data

The History view of the system monitor displays a record of the device's previous activities, including
battery state, battery charge state, CPU consumption, and device use over time.

To use this feature, you must first enable the Monitoring Service and allow it time to record data. This service may be enabled by configuring using the "Settings" option, accessible from the menu of the home screen.
